Help Us Plan Our Honeymoon Trip!
Lauren and I have our Honeymoon flights booked! We’ll be flying into Seattle on April 11th and out of SoCal on April 21st. Now that that’s out of the way, we need to get to planning the in-between, and we could use your help.
Ever traveled the West Coast? Know of any hidden nooks or crannies we should include in our road trip? Well we would love the input. Send us your suggestions using the form below. Our limitations are pretty much the entire West Coast.
Thanks, everybody!

Our Registry - Honeyfund!

We decided to forgo the traditional Wedding Registry, since we already have plenty of domestic goodies, and opted for this great site where you can simply donate to our Honeymoon.
We’ll be flying into Seattle, driving down the West Coast, and flying out of San Francisco giving us over a week of adventure and intrigue. You can help us plan our trip by donating to specific items along the way.
We are so grateful for your contribution to our very special event and we can’t wait to share not only the ceremony, but now the celebratory post-roadtrip, with everyone.

Engagement Photos Are In!

Our engagement photos are back from Arender Studio! The wait was worth it and we love how they turned out. Brad captured genuine moments between us thanks to a relaxing and fun atmosphere and good coaching. Drinks at the Chateau (one of the venues where we shot) helped a little, too.
We hope you enjoy them as much as we do and we look forward to looking back fondly on these images many years from now. You know, from our matching rocking chairs and whatnot.

Mercury Hall | Austin
We are happy to announce we will trade vows on April 8, 2011, which is a Friday night! We are head-over-heels excited about having all of our friends and family there to share this experience and we plan on making a party out of it.
The ceremony and reception will take place at the beautiful Mercury Hall in South Austin. For complete venue details see our LOCATION page.
Be sure to SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SITE so you can get updates when we add new wedding details. Although chances are we’ll be posting news all over social media as well. We’ve built up some content beforehand to give a feel for what we’ll feature here on the site. We hope this will help you keep up with us while we put this historic (to us) event together. We hope you enjoy!
Be sure to check back soon for the finished engagement photos from Arender Studios. Did you see the great teaser proofs we got?

Dress Shopping Has Begun!…And is Done.
Yes, it really did happen that quickly. Not to say that I didn’t look around at all. I spent hours looking online, seeing what I like/don’t like and basically deciding on the feel of the dress I wanted. So, I went ahead and planned a dress shopping day in Katy for the day after Easter with my Mom and Maid of Honor, Cara. Then a week and a half before my planned visit, I got an email from a local Austin bridal salon saying they were having a March Madness ridiculous sale. How could I pass that up?
I managed to convince my Mom to take a road trip to Austin that Saturday and made an appointment. We got there (Serendipity Bridal) and grabbed a few dresses, made fun of a few more and got to the trying on. I had about 7 dresses to try out. The first six were just so-so. I kept wanting to combine two or just didn’t like one big part of the dress.
Cara managed to get off work and join us just in time for me to walk out in my last one. It was perfect. It had all the parts of the other ones I loved and was almost exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding day. Love it! Done. Sold.
If you want to see pics pre-wedding day, feel free to email me (malolauren@gmail.com) or hit me up on facebook. Otherwise, I’ll leave you with this dress for thought.

Auditions to be held for hat proppers.
Now I just need to focus on the bazillion other things that are needed to throw a big ole party for 125+ people.

Our Wedding Gets Branded
![]()

Here is a little showcase of the branding for our wedding. You can expect to see this, or interpretations of this, on invitations and other wedding paraphernalia in the coming months. I was really taken by the ring when I found it and I was inspired to make this after I first bought it. I tried to add some elegance to the feel of the Big Day with this design.

Engagement Photo Shoot Proofs Are In!

Well, the wedding horses are certainly out of the gates with these sneak peeks of our engagement photo shoot shot in Monroe over the second weekend in March. We talked Brad Arender of Arender Studio into capturing these moments because we’re such huge fans of his work. We absolutely love the first two shots and can’t wait to see the final 15-20 we should get in early April. We’ll of course feature those final shots as soon as we have them. Until then, we hope you enjoy these two.

The Wedding Look & Feel Begins to Take Shape
After much deliberation, Lauren and I have chosen our wedding color palette.

You can download it yourself if you dig it (for what use, I don’t know…surprise us!) over at ColourLovers.com. We plan to use it tastefully, of course. No one’s wearing a banana yellow tux or anything. Except maybe the officiant.

Hear that, Larry?

SHE SAID YES! (With Zero Hesitation I Might Add)

Well, it only took me a little over half a decade, but I finally worked up the gumption to ask this pretty lady to marry me. On Christmas Eve 2009 I dropped in on her at her mother’s house in Katy, TX (with the rest of the family already “in the know”) and, after my plan to sneak into the house was thwarted by a locked door, it had to happen right there in the cold driveway. And happen it did with her saying “Yes!” with happy tears in her eyes.
Now comes the planning. Which we’re really excited about. We’re going to have fun with this and, when we’re done, we’ll have even more beautiful memories to look back upon fondly. Now, let’s get hitched!
